Energetic and intrepid teams from adi Group and Box Factory recently joined forces with Forest of Hearts VIPs to raise over £1200 for the Forest of Hearts.

The teams enjoyed a fun and fast-moving treasure hunt around the lovely streets of Stratford upon Avon whilst visiting some of the Shakespeare properties to discover clues and find the source of health and wellbeing.

The event was hosted to raise money to help support the Forest of Hearts Harvest Share and Green Therapy projects. Green therapy is a pilot project to evaluate a model of social prescribing in Stratford upon Avon District, set in the Secret Garden of Lifeways Centre, Stratford which aims to promote mental health and well-being, address rural and social isolation and to promote activities that reduce obesity and obesity-related long-term conditions.

Whilst, the Harvest Share project saves unwanted fruit from going to waste: volunteers get together to have fun and pick a variety of fruits (mostly apples!) from gardens and orchards, before distributing them to places around the community. Surplus fruit goes to making fine juices and preserves for sale. Our volunteers report a greater sense of well-being by helping to make the project a success.

Brian Imrie, Managing Director of adi Facilities Engineering said, “We had a fantastic time with the teams from The Box Factory and Forest of Hearts and are delighted to have raised £1,200 in the process for such a fantastic local cause.”

“adi Group has previously supported the Forest of Hearts with their Honey Bee Wood Project and annual fete so it’s great to be able to continue this partnership to help further benefit the local environment, wildlife and community.”
