Reaching an astonishing milestone this year, adi Group has raised an incredible £67,000 for its chosen charity of the year, Birmingham's Children’s Hospital Charity.

Supporting the lifesaving work of Birmingham Children’s Hospital, which delivers some of the most advanced treatments, surgical procedures and groundbreaking research to help over 100,000 children and young people, the charity seeks to make a difference in the lives of sick children and their families.

Commenting on the firm’s commitment to supporting the charity, Alan Lusty, CEO, said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have reached such a substantial figure. It’s a testament to the hard work the adi team has put into each fundraising event and activity.

“Doing more to improve the quality of life of children in care is an honourable mission, and we are proud to have played a role in facilitating this for such a leading organisation.”

As a business whose socially responsible agenda is a key component within its operations, the leading Birmingham-based company actively supports several charities and causes of importance. This year alone, the business has raised an additional £21,000 for a range of other charities.

At the beginning of 2023, adi Group set up an ongoing partnership with the Children’s Hospital Charity, pledging to work more closely with the charity after previously supporting it through various individual events such as Dragon Boat racing and the Aberdovey Bike Ride.

As a result, 2023 has seen adi Group employees become involved in a large annual calendar of events, including a range of volunteering and fundraising opportunities.

Suzanne Burton, business systems director heading up the firm’s responsible business strategy, comments on the broad spectrum of activities the team has been involved in: “Our partnership with the hospital is not just based on our participation in fundraising and charity events.

“We have worked hard to be able to offer 360-degree support to the charity and the hospital itself, such as through different types of engineering work, one-off donations for crucial pieces of equipment, and practical assistance, and not just this year.”

The team supported the hospital with electrical remedial works, site clean-up, planting trees, as well as purchasing a sensory pod the hospital had on hire, an essential piece of equipment for the children visiting the hospital.

The business also participated in a plethora of fundraising events, including the Aberdovey Bike Ride, Dragon Boat Race, Wolf Run and the Alton Towers 10k run, as well as organising its own events, including Macmillan Coffee Mornings, the adi football tournament, its annual Management Awayday and many more.

This year, the firm will be using £3,000 out of the total it raised to purchase and deliver Christmas presents for all the children in the hospital, brightening up their day during the festive season.

And to further show appreciation towards doctors, nurses, and other staff and volunteers at the hospital, adi will also host a Christmas thank you lunch, ending the year with a celebration of all the extraordinary work carried out at the hospital.
