Two employees from adi Group will join more than 9,000 other runners at the Birmingham International Marathon and Half Marathon events on Sunday 15th October.

Starting at Alexander Stadium, the marathon will take in iconic city sights including Villa Park, Selfridges, Edgbaston Stadium and Cannon Hill Park before runners head towards the heart of Birmingham’s city centre.

Karl Healy and Graham Bond from the Groups Electrical and Compressor Services teams who are competing in the event have already smashed their fundraising targets having racked up a combined total of over £1,000 to support adi Group’s chosen charity of the year, Heart Research UK.

Heart Research UK has been adi Group’s charity partner since 2016. Through a combination of sports competitions, bake-offs, own-clothes days, and tuck shop donations, more than £11,000 has been raised for the charity.

Karl Healy, Technical and Business Development Manager at adi’s Healy Compressor Services division said: “This is my 3rd time competing in the Birmingham Half Marathon Event on Sunday 15th October and like many who will be competing, I hope to improve on my previous time.”

Graham Bond, Project Manager at adi’s Electrical division added: “I’m excited to once again be running in support of helping hearts for adi Group. I have my running vest ready and set to go. Training has been hard as getting the long runs in has been very difficult alongside work but I have managed to complete my training and feel ready for the start line on the 15th October.”
