adi Group employees are preparing to join hundreds of Midlands based businesses and individuals from the local community on Friday 24th November in support of St Basils Big St Basils Big Sleep Out.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year that the Midlands headquartered engineering solutions firm will be participating in the event. A group of over 30 employees from adi’s 20 engineering divisions and the Group’s sister company, Aquapak Polymers, are set to don their onesies and construct cardboard shelters as part of the charity fundraiser.

The Big Sleep Out has been raising awareness of youth homelessness in Birmingham city since 1990 – encouraging fundraisers to swap a Friday night in for cold cardboard shelters for one night a year.

Working with young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, St Basil’s runs prevention, accommodation and support services in Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Worcestershire, the Wyre Forest and Coventry.  The charity helps more than 4,000 young people per year with advice and prevention services, accommodation, support and learning, skills and work service

Alan Lusty, chief executive at adi Group, said: “As a Birmingham company born and bred, we feel we have a responsibility to put something back into the community, particularly for the next generation. The St Basils BIG SleepOut is an important part of that commitment, given that it aims to provide young people with the most fundamental support possible.

“This is the fifth time that we’ve taken part in the event, the longevity of which is a testament to the fantastic team at St Basils.  They work incredibly hard to raise awareness of the issues around homelessness, and as a result, make a real impact on the city’s youth.”

“Each year we have increased the number of employees that have taken part in the event and are super proud that more than 30 adi Group employees will be joining us this year.”

If you would like to help adi Group support St Basils, we have set up a JustGiving Page where we are accepting donations, large or small which can be accessed here.

JustGiving sends your donation straight to St Basils and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more!
