adi Group is among hundreds of companies taking part in Responsible Business Week, (2428 April), the high-profile annual campaign to raise public awareness of business as a force for good in society.
Run by Business in the Community (BITC) the week puts the spotlight on how businesses of all sizes are making a difference, changing lives and improving communities across the UK and aims to inspire many more businesses to take action.
The Group, headquartered in Kings Norton, has a strong commitment to corporate and social responsibility through its internal Engineering a Better Future programme.
The programmes initiatives include adis investment in developing youth STEM skills via its Pre-Apprenticeship Programme. Designed to revolutionise the future of STEM education in the UK and tackle the nationwide deficit in high-quality apprenticeships, the programme is the UKs first engineering pre-apprenticeship scheme for 14 to 16 year olds.
Alan Lusty, Chief Executive Officer of adi Group said:
We are once again delighted to be taking part in Business In The Communitys Responsible Business Week. Our Engineering A Better Future programme is something that we are hugely passionate about across the Group.
As a business we are actively involved in a number of BITC initiatives such as Business Class and Ready For Work and we look forward to sharing some of our success stories as part of the week.
Amanda Mackenzie OBE, Chief Executive of Business in the Community said:
Responsible Business Week is a moment to reflect and be inspired by what business is doing to provide much needed help and support in our communities. We want UK companies to be the best in the world at responsible business, so by creating a space to share ideas and success stories we hope many more companies will help transform the way business is done.
